Mixed Media | Paintings & Drawings | Sculpture

I develop original artwork across different media: Acrylic/Oil/Colored Pencil/Marker/Graphite/Pen on Board/Canvas/Paper. My identity as an artist began as a kindergartener who found an interest in the illustrations in books and comics and wanted to illustrate them myself. My early approach to drawing and painting continues to inform my work. A key element in my artwork is play. My art is initially grounded in something approaching reality, but I always find a twist that tells a story and plays with the viewer. I love the challenge of capturing an exact image- the folds in cloth, the interactions between light and still life, and the different hues and values of color that make up the sky as we see it. But a lot of artists have these skills.  I appreciate art that pushes past the surface everyone can see to surprise and inspire the viewer.
